Sunday Morning Sermon • January 1st 2023
New
2023 is two days away. When we get together on Sunday it will be a new year. I’m curious about how many of us make New Year’s resolutions. How life-changing will they be if you are able to fulfill them. I remember an elder of mine that his resolution was to stretch more. I doubt that changed his life regardless of whether he kept it or not. Another thing that goes along with resolutions this time of year is having a word for the year. My word this year is “New.” Instead of trying harder this year with resolutions from past years, I would like for things to be new or different. I am thinking specifically in terms of my walk with God. I want to be more open to God and to make strides in terms of my prayer life. These are things that will have to depend upon the power of God instead of depending on my own willpower. I would rather put my faith in God than in myself. Anyways, I want to wish you a very happy and blessed 2023.
Have a great weekend.
