Dear Lord, forgive our yielding to temptation; Forgive our pride, our love of worldly things. Have mercy on our love of sensual pleasure, Compassion on the sins that self love brings. It must be hard to understand us sometimes;

So very different is your heart and mind. But wait, I just remembered that you do know

What it's like to be a part of humankind. You suffered just like we do, and you were tempted.

You lived with us so you could comprehend

The things that we go through each trying day,

So you could give us mercy, and be our friend.

Thank you for your compassion and forgiveness;

Thank you for your love and empathy.

ATTENTION LADIES:  You're invited to a Mother-Daughter Tea, here at the building, this Saturday, May 10th, at 3:00. Refreshments will be served. A sign up sheet is posted on the ladies bulletin board. If you have teacups or tea pots that could be donated for use, please see Judy or Janice.

NOTE:  We are having a kitchen shower for the church. We are registered at Target under the baby registry and our name is Church Christ. There will also be a list of items posted on the ladies bulletin board. The date of the shower will be announced later.

PANTRY DONATION' We would like to thank "Big Apple Bagel" company for their donation of bagels each week. Stop by, show your support, and say thanks. They are located in the shopping center by Kroger on Lew Dewitt.

LOOKING FOR A GOOD BOOK? Our church library is full of them. There are just a few examples on the front table. Please go by and sign one out. Lots of topics for all ages, there is sure to be one just for you!

CONGRATULATIONS:  We are proud to announce the baptism of Allison Tingle, daughter of Jewel Tingle. They are living near Radford, Virginia and attending church there. We rejoice with Allison and her decision to make Christ, Lord of her life.
