Ron Cook became a Christian in 1982. He has worked on home repair since he was a teenager helping his family. He also served as Boy Scout leader and Chaplin for 11 years. Ron had over 20 years in Manufacturing Engineering before going to work for the City of Charlottesville in 2000 as an Engineering Tech. With us, Ron oversees building maintenance, leads an Agape Group, helps with the moving crew and assists with VBS as needed. He is married to Janice and they raise their granddaughter Stazia.  Before Ron became a Christian, his family attended Baptist or Methodist places of worship. He went to college at Blue Ridge Community College, and the University of Phoenix. Ron is a certified Stormwater Inspector with DEQ and NPDES as well as carrying a certification for Environmental Management.  Ron never gets tired of the story of Moses and loves to see the old Ten Commandments movie. He loves how God can take an ordinary man and do extraordinary things to accomplish His will. One of his favorite songs is “Ancient Words” because through the song it tells how these words long preserved will safely guide us home.  In his spare time, Ron enjoys throwing a bowling ball, looking at classic cars, observing space through his telescope, going target practicing, playing with R/C trucks, building models, and studying the Bible. He loves to watch the History and Discovery channels, and likes action movies. He still roots for the Redskins and likes to watch NASCAR.  Ron finds it hard to give up on something when he makes a commitment and he likes to challenge those that say something cannot be done. His favorite movies include: The Ten Commandments, Midway, Star Trek, Star Wars, O Brother Where Art Thou, Apollo 13.
